Holiday books

How the Grinch Stole Christmas How the Grinch Stole Christmas by Dr. Seuss

You may think this is a kids' book, but do you remember the joy and delight you felt reading it (and then seeing the original version, narrated by Boris Karloff)? Why not relive that joy and delight, or, if you're too chicken to read it just for you, share it with a child.

A Christmas Carol A Christmas Carol by Charles Dickens

This is the best Christmas story ever! It has been retold countless times and brought to the screen in numerous versions (my favorite being The Muppet Christmas Carol - it's more true to Dickens than some I've seen!). God bless us everyone!

Miracle and Other Christmas Stories Miracle and Other Christmas Stories by Connie Willis

This book is an anthology of great Christmas stories, but it's worth its weight in gold for the title story, "Miracle." What would you do if you were given your heart's desire? Would you even know what your heart does desire? "Miracle" tells us the comical tale of a woman who thinks she knows what she wants but winds up with something completely different. The other stores in this anthology are just as fascinating.

Chicken Soup for the Soul at Christmas Chicken Soup For The Soul At Christmas by Mark Victor Hansen and Jack Canfield

For those of us that need a little pick-me-up, Chicken Soup For The Soul At Christmas gives us heartwarming tales of inspiration and cheer. A must-read for the weary soul at Christmas.
