What is a teleclass (and why should I take one)?
A teleclass is a class or workshop that's taught over the telephone. You get the same great information, inspiration, and insight as you get in a physical, face-to-face class, only you get to call from the convenience of your home, office, of wherever. (I've even had people participate from buses, trains, beaches, and campsites.) No travel hassle and you don't have to get dressed up in order to attend.
How does it work? It's simple. A teleclass is conducted by telephone conference call on what is called a bridge line. All you need is a standard telephone, and long distance access. (Cell phones work too, although reception can be an issue.) One to two days before the class, we'll send you an email with additional instructions, a telephone number, and an access code, or PIN. Then at class time, you call that phone number, and enter the access code when prompted. Everyone on the call will be automatically connected to each other. You will have to pay normal long distance charges.
Introduce yourself: I always set up the bridge lines so that there is not disconcerting beep or buzz when someone new joins the call. So you may want to announce that you're here. But I don't take roll, and if you're a minute or two late, and we've already started the class, don't interrupt. You can still speak up and participate (Please do! It's a lot more fun that way!) when the opportunity arises.
Please participate: Teleclasses give you a great opportunity to be heard and not seen. No one knows who you are, or will recognize your voice. So you can take part in discussions, and ask and answer questions without worrying about making a fool out of yourself. Besides, as a trained coach, I know how to keep you from feeling like a fool and I'll do it! So jump in and have fun. You don't have to give your name unless you want to.
And that's it! How could it be simpler? So now that you know more, go back and sign up for a teleclass!
