Discovering, Creating, and Managing My Own Muse
The journey of life is rarely a straight, wide, soft path (besides, what fun would that be). Along my way to a "boundless life," I've struggled through quicksand, dined on chocolate, skipped merrily along, climbed over some big ugly rocks and jumped effortlessly from stone to stone.
Looking back, I realize the journey was an investment in me. Even the rough patches (like sitting at a computer playing solitaire eight hours a day instead of writing my novel) were valuable preparation for my life mission.
You see, I'd quit my job to write the great American novel, only to find myself doing everything else but what I had dreamed about for so long. If only I had more self-discipline - maybe a book on time management will help - or perhaps I need a career seminar. I studied hundreds of life enhancement principals, read pop psychology tomes and explored various methods for "wrangling" my Muse. What I found was aimed at those in the corporate world - not for creative, independent professionals (like me) who work mostly on their own. I ended up setting my novel aside to develop a fresh, new approach to Manage Your Muse.
Along the way, I discovered a few things I'd like to share with you.
You have to know what you want before you can make it happen - Do you know in your heart/gut/soul what you want from your life? Most of us have to break free from conflicting internal messages and distracting outside influences to look deep inside and discover our genuine place in the world.
In searching for my own boundless life, I discovered my passion - life coaching.
Life isn't about finding yourself. Life is about creating yourself. (Thanks, George Bernard Shaw.) My objective as a life coach is to help you with that creative process.
It was in the search for a solution to my own time management and motivational issues that I created myself - a busy, happy life coach spending her days working with others to create their own boundless lives.
Lasting change takes time - Change takes time because we have to define our own unique steps to success and practice them! During my life management workshops around the country, I realized people simply needed more time and guidance.
You can join me in weekly personal coaching, take one of my targeted programs or explore my free online resources - I'm always here to help. (Yes, I do sleep - but if the only free time you have for yourself is 4 a.m., check out what's new at Manage Your Muse and don't wake me - unless you have chocolate to share.) Creative, free-spirited, entrepreneurial people aren't like everybody else - The right-brain traits that spark your passion, encourage you to take risks, keep you singing (even if it is off-key) and fuel your dreams can also make you feel strangled, discontented, out-of-step in a linear-thinking, rule-filled world. It's all about living your life on your own terms!
If you are a creative person looking for an inspiration-filled life, an entrepreneur blazing your own way or a free-spirit convinced that the "right way" isn't the only way - the answer isn't another book on organization, another fad diet or blindly following society's rules - It's about creating your own boundless life. Just like I am!
